Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Mapple Creek Collector's Edition is a casual adventure game developed by Artifex Mundi. The storyline centers on a detective who is investigating the disappearance of a girl in the haunted town of Mapple Creek. After a sudden, powerful storm, you wake up to realize that you have lost your memory; you don't know why you're there and your notes regarding the case are missing.

Your task will be to figure out what happened and put two and two together to start rejoining the pieces of this big puzzle. You will need to walk along the streets of this eerie town to recollect notes, objects, clues, and anything that can help you remember the object of your investigation.

Regarding the gameplay, Enigmatis is a point-and-click adventure game that combines the search of hidden objects with a variety of logic puzzles. The idea is basically to explore small areas to solve puzzles in order to get key objects that will help you remove upcoming obstacles. Most part of the game consists of hidden-object scenes, which, aside from the common items, also include objects that require more interaction with the environment. Hints are unlimited but once you use one, you need to wait until the hint button reloads.

As you move on solving puzzles of all types, you will encounter characters that can give you some hints and help you rebuild your story. Best of all is the interactive map that lets you instantly jump from one area to the other avoiding the tedious backtracking.

With great graphics and a soundtrack that builds up suspense, the game is beautifully designed and entertaining and it has an intriguing story. Though it resorts to the typical HOG formula, Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Mapple Creek is a title that will no doubt please all fans of the genre.
